A RESOLUTION 1 Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study 2 and report on health insurance discount options for child- 3 care providers through group pooling. 4 WHEREAS, One-quarter of child-care workers have no health 5 insurance benefits at all versus 11% of the total work force; 6 and 7 WHEREAS, Nearly two-thirds of all children under five years 8 of age are in child care; and 9 WHEREAS, Consistency in child care has been found to be 10 extremely important to a child's well-being; and 11 WHEREAS, Low pay and lack of benefits is causing a higher 12 rate of job turnover in the child-care field; therefore be it 13 RESOLVED, That the Senate direct the Legislative Budget and 14 Finance Committee to study and report on health insurance 15 discount options for child-care providers through group pooling; 16 and be it further 17 RESOLVED, That the committee report its findings, together 18 with recommendation for remedial legislation or other
