           WOZNIAK, WONDERLING, STACK, RAFFERTY, BOSCOLA, PILEGGI,
           LEMMOND, EARLL, D. WHITE, MADIGAN, ORIE, CONTI, DENT, PIPPY,
           GREENLEAF, CORMAN, THOMPSON, ROBBINS, RHOADES, TOMLINSON AND

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing May 6, 2004, as the "National Day of Prayer."

     2     WHEREAS, The National Day of Prayer is a day set aside to
     3  pray for our nation; and
     4     WHEREAS, The designated day, the first Thursday of May,
     5  belongs to all citizens; and
     6     WHEREAS, This annual event was not created for political
     7  reasons or to promote any other agenda except prayer; and
     8     WHEREAS, We pray for our leaders, for our communities, for
     9  our families, for our children and for each other; and
    10     WHEREAS, The National Day of Prayer is a day to ask for
    11  healing, to heal our nation and to bring us together in true
    12  unity; and
    13     WHEREAS, Prayer is regarded by millions as the most important
    14  utterance for the benefit of humankind; and
    15     WHEREAS, Our nation was founded by single-minded men and


     1  women who sought wisdom through prayer; and
     2     WHEREAS, Prayer has aided many people throughout the history
     3  of our nation and this Commonwealth when support and guidance
     4  were needed; therefore be it
     5     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize May 6, 2004, as "National
     6  Day of Prayer" in Pennsylvania.
