A RESOLUTION

Supporting the Military Community Covenant program.

WHEREAS, The United States Army created the Military

3

Community Covenant program in 2008 to affirm state and local

4

support for all servicepersons, military families and veterans;

5

and

6

WHEREAS, Military organizational support in this Commonwealth

7

includes the nationally recognized Best Practices program,

8

Freedom Team Salute program, Pennsylvania Military Relief

9

Assistance program, National Guard Youth Camps, family retreats

10

for spouses, children, parents and siblings of fallen National

11

Guard members and the Rotary Club Stryker Project; and

12

WHEREAS, The Senate honors the strength and success of our

13

nation's unified military forces and recognizes the sacrifices

14

of military families; and

15

WHEREAS, The Senate encourages residents of this Commonwealth

to build effective partnerships to foster and sustain the

2

strength, resilience and readiness of servicepersons and their

3

families; therefore be it

4

RESOLVED, That the Senate support the Military Community

5

Covenant program.
