THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF PENNSYLVANIA


SENATE BILL

No. 239 Session of 2005

        REFERRED TO TRANSPORTATION, FEBRUARY 11, 2005

                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for sound barriers along a certain portion of
     2     Interstate 95 in the City of Chester and Chester Township,
     3     Delaware County, and for the powers and duties of the
     4     Department of Transportation.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7  Section 1.  Interstate 95 sound barriers for the City of Chester
     8                 and Chester Township, Delaware County.
     9     The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain
    10  sound barriers along the northbound and southbound lanes of that
    11  portion of Interstate 95 in the City of Chester and Chester
    12  Township, Delaware County, described as follows:
    13         (1)  Northbound lane:
    14             (i)  Highland Avenue (Mile 3.0) to bridge over
    15         railroad (Mile 4.1);
    16             (ii)  Kerlin Street Ramp (Mile 4.5) to Chester River
    17         Bridge (Mile 4.8); and
    18             (iii)  Madison Street (Mile 5.5) to railroad bridge


     1         (Mile 7.3).
     2         (2)  Southbound lane:
     3             (i)  Highland Avenue (Mile 3.0) to Engle Street (Mile
     4         3.5);
     5             (ii)  Finland Drive (Mile 4.4) to Chester River
     6         Bridge (Mile 4.8); and
     7             (iii)  Crosby Street (Mile 5.4) to Sun Drive (Mile
     8         6.2).
     9  Section 2.  Funding.
    10     The project described in section 1 shall be funded by the
    11  Motor License Fund.
    12  Section 3.  Effective date.
    13     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
