AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the powers of the Secretary
3 of Transportation to regulate the operation of trucks with
4 four or more axles.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
9 § 4910. Regulation of four-axle trucks.
10 The Secretary of Transportation shall have the authority to
11 regulate or prohibit the operation on State highways of trucks,
12 with four axles or more, whenever the highway's width, weight-
13 bearing capacity, gradient, curves or passage over bridges and
14 viaducts would interfere with the health, safety and welfare of
15 the public. This section shall not preclude local delivery
16 vehicles from using these highways.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
