           ERICKSON, BOSCOLA, BRIGHTBILL, COSTA, EARLL, HELFRICK, CONTI,
           KITCHEN, KUKOVICH, LEMMOND, LOGAN, MOWERY, MUSTO, O'PAKE,
           PUNT, SCHWARTZ, RHOADES, STOUT, ROBBINS, TARTAGLIONE,

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, JUNE 18, 2002

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing August 20 through 22, 2002, as "Ag Progress Days" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania State University College of
     4  Agricultural Sciences has held "Ag Progress Days" at the Russell
     5  E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs since
     6  1976; and
     7     WHEREAS, Originating in the 1950s as "Grassland Field Days"
     8  and later known as "Forage Progress Days," this exposition of
     9  agricultural research has been observed as "Ag Progress Days"
    10  since 1969; and
    11     WHEREAS, With tours of the research center and more than 300
    12  exhibits featuring farm and home equipment and services, "Ag
    13  Progress Days" offers the latest research and technologies in
    14  animal and crop production, farm safety, field machinery, pest
    15  management, conservation, lawn and garden care, family living,
    16  community assistance and business management; therefore be it

     1     RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize August 20 through 22,
     2  2002, as "Ag Progress Days" in Pennsylvania in appreciation of
     3  the diversity of agriculture and the benefits of agricultural
     4  research in this Commonwealth.
