                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for sentences for second or
     3     subsequent convictions.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 6503 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes, amended December 21, 1998 (P.L.    ,
     8  No.151), is amended to read:
     9  § 6503.  Subsequent convictions of certain offenses.
    10     (a)  General offenses.--Every person convicted of a second or
    11  subsequent violation of any of the following provisions within
    12  seven years of the date of the commission of the offense for
    13  which a sentence is to be imposed shall be sentenced to pay a
    14  fine of not less than $200 nor more than $1,000 or to
    15  imprisonment for not more than six months, or both:
    16         Section 1543 (relating to driving while operating
    17     privilege is suspended or revoked).
    18         Section 3367 (relating to racing on highways).

     1         Section 3733 (relating to fleeing or attempting to elude
     2     police officer).
     3         Section 3734 (relating to driving without lights to avoid
     4     identification or arrest).
     5         Section 3748 (relating to false reports).
     6     (b)  Driving without a license.--Every person convicted of a
     7  second or subsequent violation of Section 1501(a) (relating to
     8  drivers required to be licensed) within seven years of the date
     9  of commission of the offense preceding the offense for which
    10  sentence is to be imposed shall be sentenced to pay a fine of
    11  not less than $200 nor more than $1,000 or to imprisonment for
    12  not more than six months, or both.
    13     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
