AN ACT
1 Amending Title 35 (Health and Safety) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the appointment
3 of the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 7315(c) of Title 35 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 7315. Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner.

10 (c) Qualifications and appointment.--The Pennsylvania State
11 Fire Commissioner shall be a person who, by reason of training,
12 experience and attainment, is qualified to coordinate fire
13 prevention and control activities. The commissioner shall be
14 appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of a
15 majority of the members elected to the Senate, after
16 consultation with the fire service community. The commissioner
17 shall serve as a deputy director of the agency.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
