        INTRODUCED BY GERLACH, TOMLINSON, COSTA, SCHWARTZ, WOZNIAK,
           M. WHITE, THOMPSON, ARMSTRONG, WAUGH, O'PAKE, BELL, STACK,
           CORMAN, EARLL, ROBBINS, BOSCOLA AND LOGAN, FEBRUARY 5, 2001

        REFERRED TO STATE GOVERNMENT, FEBRUARY 5, 2001

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of November 1, 1971 (P.L.495, No.113),
     2     entitled, as amended, "An act providing for the compensation
     3     of county officers in counties of the second through eighth
     4     classes, for compensation of district attorneys in cities and
     5     counties of the first class, for compensation of district
     6     election officers in all counties, for the disposition of
     7     fees, for filing of bonds in certain cases and for duties of
     8     certain officers," further providing for the compensation of
     9     district election officers.

    10     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    11  hereby enacts as follows:
    12     Section 1.  Section 10.2 of the act of November 1, 1971
    13  (P.L.495, No.113), entitled, as amended, "An act providing for
    14  the compensation of county officers in counties of the second
    15  through eighth classes, for compensation of district attorneys
    16  in cities and counties of the first class, for compensation of
    17  district election officers in all counties, for the disposition
    18  of fees, for filing of bonds in certain cases and for duties of
    19  certain officers," is amended by adding a subsection to read:
    20     Section 10.2.  * * *
    21     (b.1)  Persons working a half-day shift shall be compensated

     1  at one-half the rate of a person working a full day.
     2     * * *
     3     Section 2.  This act shall be applicable as constitutionally
     4  permissible.
     5     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
