A RESOLUTION
1 Designating the week of January 23 through 29, 2005, as
2 "Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists Week" in
3 Pennsylvania.
4 WHEREAS, Certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) have
5 provided anesthesia services in this Commonwealth for more than
6 100 years; and
7 WHEREAS, CRNAs are State-licensed, nationally certified
8 advanced practice nurses having specialized graduate-level
9 degrees in anesthesia; and
10 WHEREAS, CRNAs are responsible for patient safety and comfort
11 throughout procedures of varying complexity from the
12 preanesthesia through the postanesthesia periods; and
13 WHEREAS, Practice settings include hospital surgical suites,
14 obstetrical delivery rooms, physicians' offices, ambulatory
15 surgical centers and United States Health and Human Services,
16 military and veterans facilities; and
1 WHEREAS, More than 2,300 CRNAs ensure access to quality
2 anesthesia care for residents of this Commonwealth; therefore be
3 it
4 RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of January 23
5 through 29, 2005, as "Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists
6 Week" in Pennsylvania.
