           O'PAKE, FERLO, STOUT, DINNIMAN, KASUNIC, RAFFERTY,
           C. WILLIAMS, LAVALLE, COSTA, PIPPY, EARLL, GREENLEAF, FUMO,
           FONTANA, HUGHES, A. WILLIAMS, ERICKSON, ORIE, TOMLINSON,
           PILEGGI AND WONDERLING, SEPTEMBER 23, 2008

        INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED, SEPTEMBER 23, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the month of October 2008 as "American Pharmacists
     2     Month" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, October 2008 has been designated as "American
     4  Pharmacists Month" by the American Pharmacists Association; and
     5     WHEREAS, The purpose of this campaign is to inform consumers
     6  about the value of talking with their provider pharmacist in
     7  order to use medicines appropriately; and
     8     WHEREAS, Another purpose of the campaign is to urge consumers
     9  to update their over-the-counter medicines and to restock their
    10  medicine cabinets, carefully disposing of expired medicines; and
    11     WHEREAS, In keeping with these purposes, the theme of the
    12  campaign is "Know Your Medicine. Know Your Pharmacist."; and
    13     WHEREAS, The residents of this Commonwealth benefit greatly
    14  from the presence of dedicated and well-trained pharmacists in
    15  places where prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines are
    16  provided; therefore be it


     1     RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the month of October 2008
     2  as "American Pharmacists Month" in Pennsylvania.
