                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, prohibiting certain use of a laser
     3     pointer.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 5518.  Use of a laser pointer.
     9     (a)  Offense defined.--Except as provided in subsection (b),
    10  a person commits a summary offense if he knowingly, with the
    11  intent to harass, annoy or alarm, shines a laser pointer at
    12  another person.
    13     (b)  Grading.--If the offense in subsection (a) is committed
    14  against a police officer, the offense shall be a misdemeanor of
    15  the third degree.
    16     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
