AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Transportation to
2 conduct a study to determine the cost of verification of
3 insurance information entered on vehicle registration
4 applications.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The sum of $200,000, or as much thereof as may be
8 necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
9 Transportation for the fiscal year July 1, 1989, to June 30,
10 1990, to conduct a study to determine the cost of verification
11 of all insurance information entered on vehicle registration
12 applications for the purpose of reducing the number of uninsured
13 motorists in this Commonwealth.
14 Section 2. The study provided for in section 1 shall be
15 completed within four months of the effective date of this act,
16 and the results of the study shall be submitted to the General
17 Assembly.
18 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
