                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for free resident fishing licenses to
     3     former prisoners of war.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 30 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 2707.1.  Former prisoners of war.
     9     (a)  General rule.--A former prisoner of war shall be issued
    10  a free resident fishing license upon application to the
    11  commission or a county treasurer or, in counties where there is
    12  no county treasurer by virtue of a home rule charter or optional
    13  plan of government, the county official who performs the
    14  functions of a county treasurer and who has been designated as
    15  an issuing agent by the commission. An application under this
    16  section shall contain the information required under section
    17  2701 (relating to resident fishing licenses).
    18     (b)  Definition.--As used in this section, the term "former

     1  prisoner of war" means any person who was imprisoned by enemy
     2  forces while in the service of the armed forces of the United
     3  States as certified by the appropriate branch of the armed
     4  forces of the United States.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
