                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of December 29, 1972 (P.L.1713, No.367),
     2     entitled "An act concerning motor vehicle physical damage
     3     appraisers; providing for the licensing of persons engaged in
     4     appraising physical damages to motor vehicles; fixing fees
     5     and prescribing unlawful acts and penalties," further
     6     providing for compliance provisions.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 11(d) of the act of December 29, 1972
    10  (P.L.1713, No.367), known as the Motor Vehicle Physical Damage
    11  Appraiser Act, is amended to read:
    12     Section 11.  Compliance with Act.--* * *
    13     (d)  No appraiser or his employer shall require that repairs
    14  be made in any specified repair shop. No appraiser or employer
    15  of the appraiser, insurer or employe of the insurer or
    16  independent insurance agent or employe of the agent may refer or
    17  solicit a request for a recommendation from a consumer to any
    18  particular repair shop, repair person or repair facility. No
    19  appraiser, or employer or employe of the appraiser, insurer or


     1  employe of the insurer or employe of the agent may make any
     2  statement or take any action to discourage or dissuade a
     3  consumer from using a particular repair shop, repair person or
     4  repair facility.

     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
