AN ACT
1 To provide an appropriation from the General Fund to the
2 Department of Health for the fiscal year July 1, 1997, to
3 June 30, 1998, for the Special Supplemental Food Service
4 Program for Women, Infants and Children.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The sum of $6,000,000, or as much thereof as may
8 be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health
9 for the fiscal year July 1, 1997, to June 30, 1998, for the
10 Special Supplemental Food Service Program for Women, Infants and
11 Children to provide iron-rich and protein-rich food to low-
12 income pregnant women, lactating mothers, infants and children.
13 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1997, or
14 immediately, whichever is later.
