AN ACT
1 Amending Title 74 (Transportation) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further defining "local transportation
3 organization."
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The definition of "local transportation
7 organization" in section 1301 of Title 74 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9 § 1301. Definitions.
10 The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
11 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
12 context clearly indicates otherwise:

14 "Local transportation organization." Any political
15 subdivision or any mass transportation, port, redevelopment or
16 airport authority now or hereafter organized under the Laws of
17 Pennsylvania or pursuant to an interstate compact or otherwise
18 empowered to render, contract for the rendering or assist in the
1 rendering of transportation service in a limited area in the
2 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, even though it may also render or
3 assist in rendering transportation service in adjacent states,
4 or any nonprofit association of public transportation providers
5 within this Commonwealth.
