AN ACT
1 Requiring that certain electric signs be approved by
2 Underwriter's Laboratory; and providing a penalty.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Specifications and label requirements.
6 An electric sign installed within 100 feet of the right-of-
7 way of a highway or thoroughfare maintained by the Commonwealth
8 shall be constructed in accordance with Underwriter's Laboratory
9 specifications and shall bear the Underwriter's Laboratory
10 label.
11 Section 2. Penalty.
12 An owner or operator of an establishment who maintains a sign
13 in violation of section 1 commits a summary offense.
14 Section 3. Application of act.
15 This act shall apply to electric signs erected on or after
16 the effective date of this act.
17 Section 4. Effective date.
1 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
