                               A JOINT RESOLUTION

     1  Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
     2     of Pennsylvania, providing for a tax exemption for
     3     parsonages.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby resolves as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The following amendment to the Constitution of
     7  Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
     8     That section 2(a)(i) of Article VIII be amended to read:
     9  § 2.  Exemptions and special provisions.
    10     (a) The General Assembly may by law exempt from taxation:
    11     (i)  Actual places of regularly stated religious worship and
    12  parsonages, whether or not physically attached to the places of
    13  regularly stated religious worship;

    15     Section 2.  This proposed amendment shall be submitted by the
    16  Secretary of the Commonwealth to the qualified electors of this
    17  Commonwealth at the primary, general or municipal election next


     1  held after the advertising requirements of section 1 of Article
     2  XI of the Constitution of Pennsylvania have been satisfied.
