AN ACT
1 Amending Title 24 (Education) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for supplemental annuities
3 commencing 1998.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 8348.5(e) of Title 24 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 8348.5. Supplemental annuities commencing 1998.

10 (e) Benefits to beneficiaries or survivors.--[No
11 supplemental annuity provided under this section shall be
12 payable to the beneficiary or survivor annuitant of a member who
13 dies before July 1, 1998.] Notwithstanding any other provision
14 of law, the supplemental annuity provided under this section
15 shall be payable to a beneficiary or survivor annuitant of a
16 member who died before July 1, 1998.

1 Section 2. This act shall be retroactive to June 18, 1998.
2 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
