AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
3 Commonwealth portion of fines; and making editorial changes.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 3571(b)(2) of Title 42 of the
7 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 3571. Commonwealth portion of fines, etc.

10 (b) Vehicle offenses.--

12 (2) (i) Except as provided in paragraph (4), when
13 prosecution under any other provision of Title 75
14 (relating to vehicles) is the result of State Police
15 action, all fines, forfeited recognizances and other
16 forfeitures imposed, lost or forfeited shall be payable
17 to the Commonwealth, for credit to the Motor License
18 Fund. One-half of the revenue shall be paid to
1 municipalities as designated in subparagraph (ii) in the 2 same ratio provided in section 4 of the act of June 1, 3 1956 (1955 P.L.1944, No.655), [relating to partial 4 allocation of liquid fuels and fuel use tax proceeds.] 5 referred to as the Liquid Fuels Tax Municipal Allocation 6 Law. 7 (ii) Only municipalities that provide local police 8 services through a municipal police department, 9 participation in a regional police department or 10 contracts with other municipal or regional police for 11 police services may receive revenue under subparagraph 12 (i). 13 * * * 14 Section 2.
