AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for duties of agents.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 1318(d) and (e) of Title 75 of the
6 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, added April 17, 1997 (P.L.
7 , No.3), are amended to read:
8 § 1318. Duties of agents.

10 [(d) Verification of information on application.--In
11 addition to any other duty prescribed by this title or
12 departmental regulations, an agent shall verify that the
13 purchase price stated on the application approximates the fair
14 market value of the vehicle in a manner prescribed by the
15 department as set forth in a notice published in the
16 Pennsylvania Bulletin.
17 (e) Penalty.--Any person who violates this section, in
1 addition to any penalty, suspension or revocation imposed by the
2 department, commits a summary offense and shall, upon
3 conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $100 nor
4 more than $500 and for each subsequent or additional offense, a
5 fine of not less than $200 nor more than $500, or to
6 imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.]
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
