SENATE BILL

No. 1225 Session of 1999

                                     AN ACT

     1  Authorizing the Department of General Services, with the
     2     approval of the Governor and the Department of Agriculture,
     3     to remove the use restriction and reversionary covenant on
     4     the real estate conveyed to East Allen Township Volunteer
     5     Ambulance Corps, situate in East Allen Township, Northampton
     6     County.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  The Department of General Services, with the
    10  approval of the Governor and the Department of Agriculture, is
    11  hereby authorized on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    12  to execute a deed to remove a use restriction and reversionary
    13  covenant placed on the lands conveyed to East Allen Township
    14  Volunteer Ambulance Corps under the act of December 21, 1984
    15  (P.L.1227, No.233), entitled "An act authorizing the Department
    16  of General Services, with the approval of the Governor and the
    17  Department of Health, to convey two tracts of land located in
    18  Westtown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, to Gaudenzia,
    19  Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, and the Township of


     1  Westtown; authorizing and directing the Department of General
     2  Services, with the approval of the Governor and the Department
     3  of Environmental Resources, to convey to the Catholic Diocese of
     4  Altoona-Johnstown 0.810 acres and to Mrs. Edith Casper 0.885
     5  acres of land situate in Noyes Township, Clinton County,
     6  Pennsylvania; authorizing and directing the Department of
     7  General Services, with the approval of the Governor and the
     8  Department of Agriculture, to convey to the East Allen Township
     9  Volunteer Ambulance Corps a certain tract of land, with
    10  improvements, situate in East Allen Township, Northampton
    11  County, Pennsylvania; with the approval of the Governor, to join
    12  with Conewango Township in Warren County in the conveyance of a
    13  parcel of land, at a fair market value, to West Penn Oil
    14  Corporation, Inc.; authorizing and directing the Department of
    15  General Services, with the approval of the Governor, to convey a
    16  right-of-way to Jeffrey W. Shank and Roberta L. Shank, his wife,
    17  over certain lands in Mount Joy Township, Lancaster County,
    18  Pennsylvania; authorizing and directing the Department of
    19  General Services and the Department of Agriculture, with the
    20  approval of the Governor, to convey to Lifecare Associates,
    21  Inc., a tract of land and the buildings erected thereon in Penn
    22  Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania; authorizing and directing
    23  the Department of General Services, with the approval of the
    24  Governor and the Secretary of Public Welfare, to convey to the
    25  City of Allentown a parcel of land situate in the City of
    26  Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania; authorizing and
    27  directing the Department of General Services, with the approval
    28  of the Governor and the Department of Public Welfare, to convey
    29  a tract of land to the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 5 of
    30  Philadelphia, situate in the city and county of Philadelphia,

     1  Pennsylvania; and authorizing the Department of General
     2  Services, with the approval of the Governor and the Department
     3  of Agriculture, to convey to East Norriton Fire Company 2.2856
     4  acres of land, more or less, situate in East Norriton Township,
     5  Montgomery County, Pennsylvania," for fair market value as
     6  determined by an independent appraisal.
     7     Section 2.  The deed shall be executed by the Secretary of
     8  General Services in the name of the Commonwealth of
     9  Pennsylvania.
    10     Section 3.  Costs and fees incidental to removing the use
    11  restriction and reversionary covenant shall be borne by the
    12  grantee.
    13     Section 4.  Proceeds from the removal of the use restriction
    14  and reversionary covenant shall be deposited in the Agricultural
    15  Conservation Easement Purchase Fund.
    16     Section 5.  This act shall take effect immediately.
