SENATE BILL

                                     AN ACT

     1  Regulating travel agent contract procedures.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4  Section 1.  Short title.
     5     This act shall be known and may be cited as the Travel Agent
     6  Contract Procedure Law.
     7  Section 2.  General rule.
     8     Prior to issuing tickets or other indicia of payment for
     9  transportation, lodging, food, entertainment or other goods or
    10  services, a travel agent must provide the purchaser with an
    11  itemized list of all goods and services containing the date and
    12  time related to each item and a place on the travel agent's copy
    13  of the list for the purchaser to indicate by signature that the
    14  items are acceptable.
    15  Section 3.  Return envelope.
    16     Unless the purchaser is dealing with the travel agent in
    17  person, the travel agent must also provide a self-addressed,

     1  stamped envelope which the purchaser can use to mail the travel
     2  agent's copy of the accepted list back to the travel agent.
     3  Section 4.  Fax or internet.
     4     If agreeable to both the travel agent and the purchaser, fax
     5  or internet facilities may be used to send the itemized list and
     6  return the acceptance.
     7  Section 5.  Penalty.
     8     If a travel agent does not comply with this act, the
     9  purchaser shall be discharged from all liability to pay for any
    10  goods or services.
    11  Section 6.  Effective date.
    12     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
