SENATE BILL

No. 1631 Session of 1990

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of December 17, 1988 (P.L.2242, No.69A),
     2     entitled "An act appropriating money from the Sunny Day Fund
     3     to the Department of Commerce for various projects throughout
     4     this Commonwealth for fiscal year 1988-1989," further
     5     providing for the award of funds for certain projects.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 2(4) of the act of December 17, 1988
     9  (P.L.2242, No.69A), entitled "An act appropriating money from
    10  the Sunny Day Fund to the Department of Commerce for various
    11  projects throughout this Commonwealth for fiscal year 1988-
    12  1989," is amended to read:
    13     Section 2.  The following amounts are appropriated to the
    14  Department of Commerce to induce companies to locate large
    15  industrial, manufacturing or research and development
    16  enterprises within this Commonwealth.

    18     (4)  For the purpose of making a loan to [Glass
    19  Adventures, Incorporated, or its affiliate] U.S.

     1  Glass, Inc. or an affiliate or successor thereof,
     2  to locate a glass manufacturing facility in
     3  Washington County. It is estimated that this
     4  project will create approximately 500 new jobs
     5  within three years of operation.
     6             State appropriation....................     6,000,000
     7     Section 2.  Section 5(c) of the act, amended June 30, 1989
     8  (P.L.800, No.2A), is amended and the section is amended by
     9  adding a subsection to read:
    10     Section 5.  * * *
    11     (c)  [Any] Except as provided in subsection (d), any funds
    12  from this appropriation remaining unexpended or unencumbered on
    13  June 30, 1990, shall automatically lapse into the Sunny Day
    14  Fund.
    15     (d)  Any funds from this appropriation authorized under
    16  paragraph (4) of section 2 remaining unexpended or unencumbered
    17  on June 30, 1991, shall automatically lapse into the Sunny Day
    18  Fund.
    19     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
