AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), entitled "An
2 act defining the liability of an employer to pay damages for
3 injuries received by an employe in the course of employment;
4 establishing an elective schedule of compensation; providing
5 procedure for the determination of liability and compensation
6 thereunder; and prescribing penalties," increasing reasonable
7 expense of burial limits.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. Clause 7 of section 307 of the act of June 2,
11 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), known as The Pennsylvania Workmen's
12 Compensation Act, reenacted and amended June 21, 1939 (P.L.520,
13 No.281) and amended December 5, 1974 (P.L.782, No.263), is
14 amended to read:
15 Section 307. In case of death, compensation shall be
16 computed on the following basis, and distributed to the
17 following persons: Provided, That in no case shall the wages of
18 the deceased be taken to be less than fifty per centum of the
19 Statewide average weekly wage for purposes of this section:

1 7. Whether or not there be dependents as aforesaid, the
2 reasonable expense of burial, not exceeding [one thousand five
3 hundred] three thousand dollars, which shall be paid by the
4 employer or insurer directly to the undertaker (without
5 deduction of any amounts theretofore paid for compensation or
6 for medical expenses).

8 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
