SENATE BILL

No. 1687 Session of 1990

        REFERRED TO CONSUMER PROTECTION AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE,
           JUNE 18, 1990

                                     AN ACT

     1  Requiring manufacturers of products sold in this Commonwealth to
     2     submit copies of use, instruction or safety manuals to the
     3     State Library of Pennsylvania.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6  Section 1.  Manufacturers required to submit manuals.
     7     Every manufacturer of a product which is sold at retail in
     8  this Commonwealth, which product is accompanied by a use,
     9  instruction or safety manual, shall submit a copy of the manual
    10  to the State Library of Pennsylvania.
    11  Section 2.  Failure to comply.
    12     Failure of a manufacturer to comply with this act shall
    13  constitute a violation of the act of December 17, 1968
    14  (P.L.1224, No.387), known as the Unfair Trade Practices and
    15  Consumer Protection Law, and shall be subject to the enforcement
    16  provisions of that act.
    17  Section 3.  Effective date.
    18     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
