Subject: | Proposed Legislation - Misuse and Warning Labeled Products |
In the near future, I intend to reintroduce former House Bill 803, legislation that would amend Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, which provide for the liability rules applicable to product sellers and manufacturers. This legislation would act to prohibit product liability actions against manufacturers or retailers in instances when a product is either misused or a warning label was provided with the product. This legislation mirrors legislation signed into law by the Governor of Colorado on April 9, 2003 as Chapter 167 of the Laws of 2003, which took effect on September 1, 2003. Previous cosponsors include: Aument, Boback, Clymer, Cutler, Denlinger, Everett, Fleck, Gingrich, Grell, Harhart, Harris C., Hess, Keller, M., Killion, Knowles, Kortz, Lawrence, Marshall, Miller, Milne, Moul, O’Neill, Pickett, Pyle, Scavello, Stern, and Tallman. |
