Subject: | Property Tax & Rent Rebate: HB731 Reintroduction from 2011-2012 Session |
In the near future, I intend to reintroduce HB731 from the 2011.2012 Legislative Session. This proposal would amend the Senior Citizens Property Tax and Rent Rebate Assistance provisions of the Taxpayer Relief Act of 2006. Specifically, the proposal would ensure that an increase in a claimant’s household income resulting from a Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) would not jeopardize his or her eligibility for filing a claim for a property tax or rent rebate. Under my proposal, a claimant would remain eligible for a property tax or rent rebate, if his or her household income would exceed the program limit mainly because of a Social Security COLA. Please join me in sponsoring this legislative proposal. Previous Co-Sponsors: CURRY, HENNESSEY, STURLA, MANN, FREEMAN, LONGIETTI, V. BROWN, BOBACK, K.
