Subject: | 2013 EMS Week |
I will be introducing a House Resolution designating the week of May 19 through 25, 2013, as “Emergency Medical Services Week”; and May 22, 2013, as “Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Day” in Pennsylvania. This years EMS Week theme is EMS: One Mission, One Team. Each year during EMS Week, crews hold activities honoring emergency medical technicians, paramedics, first responders, firefighters and police along with providing vital educational material and training to adults and children on a variety of topics, including injury prevention, safety awareness and medical emergencies. Please join me in honoring the more than 40,000 emergency medical technicians (EMT-Bs – Basic and EMT-P’s – Paramedics ) and the more than 4,000 first responders who deliver 24-hour, seven-days-a-week lifesaving care to persons in need. |
