Subject: | Resolution designating March 2013 as “Professional Social Work Month” in Pennsylvania |
When we return to Session, I will be introducing a Resolution designating March 2013 as “Professional Social Work Month” in Pennsylvania. As you know, a social worker’s primary mission in choosing this career is to help people who are experiencing social issues. The social workers working in our great Commonwealth, and across the country, are instrumental in assisting those mentioned supra with an array of complex social issues while, at the same time, connecting these individuals to a network of available resources. Many of these dedicated professionals work extensively in our local hospitals, police departments, prisons, mental health care clinics, child welfare agencies, military facilities, adoption centers, drug and alcohol treatment facilities, and schools. The services they offer are instrumental to strengthening those that they help directly, as well as their families. Their dedication to this often tough profession is laudable. As such, it is for these reasons, and many more, that I am proud to offer this Resolution.
