Subject: | RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING KEEP PENNSYLVANIA BEAUTIFUL VOLUNTEERS |
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce a resolution recognizing Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful volunteers who are participating in the Great American Cleanup of PA from March 1 through May 31, 2013. As you may know, the Great American Cleanup of PA is celebrating its ninth year of cleaning up litter and trash along our roadsides, streams, beaches, parks, forests and neighborhoods to make our communities clean and beautiful. In 2012, there were over 141,000 volunteers from all 67 Pennsylvania counties who participated in 4,421 cleanup events, collecting more than 6,762,000 pounds of trash. These volunteers planted 22,511 trees, bulbs and plants in an effort to continue to keep Pennsylvania beautiful. In light of the outstanding work accomplished each year by these exceptional volunteers across the Commonwealth, I am privileged to sponsor this resolution honoring their efforts. Previous cosponsors of this resolution in 2012 were Reps. Brownlee, Caltagirone, George, Gingrich, Goodman, Harhart, Hennessey, Hutchinson, Kirkland, Kortz, Longietti, Mahoney, Mann, Millard, Mirabito, Murt, O'Neill, Pashinski, Payton, Readshaw, Ross, Scavello, Sonney, Swanger and Youngblood. If you should have any questions or concerns regarding this measure, please contact Fran Harris at fharris@pahouse.net. |
