Subject: | Co-sponsorship of Condolence Resolution - Correctional Officer Eric Williams |
In the very near future, I am planning to introduce a condolence resolution honoring Eric Williams, a correctional officer who died on February 25, 2013, while serving his country at the United States Penitentiary - Canaan. A graduate of King’s College with a criminal justice degree, Mr. Williams began serving his country as a federal corrections officer on September 11, 2011. On February 25, 2013, Officer Williams was tragically killed at the United States Penitentiary-Canaan by an inmate who assaulted him with a homemade weapon as Officer Williams was preparing to lock the inmates in their cells for the night. Known by family and friends as having a great sense of humor, Officer Williams enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing soccer and bowling. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Please join me in honoring the life of Officer Williams, and his courageous service to his community, this Commonwealth, and to the country. |
