Subject: Recognizing May 2013 as "Egg Month" in Pennsylvania
 
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution designating May 2013 as “Egg Month” in Pennsylvania and recognizing Pennsylvania’s strong poultry industry and its contributions to the economy and the citizens of Pennsylvania.

The American Egg Board designates the month of May 2013 to egg awareness. Its mission is to increase the demand for eggs and egg products on behalf of the country’s egg producers. Pennsylvania is the third-largest egg-producing state in the country with an average of 23.9 million hens producing nearly 7 billion eggs. This production contributes to $408.2 million of the Commonwealth’s economy each year.

Please join me in recognizing this important product within our Commonwealth.
