Subject: | Resolution - Drinking Water Week - May 5-11, 2013 |
While 80% of the earth’s surface is covered with water, only 1% of that water is suitable for human consumption. Consequently, it is of great significance that an estimated 2,200 community drinking water systems provide high quality drinking water to homes and business throughout the Commonwealth. Nevertheless, it is important to continue properly conserving and preserving this precious natural resource. To facilitate the continuance of clean drinking water preservation, in the near future I will be introducing a resolution to designate the week of May 5 through 11, 2013, as “Drinking Water Week” in Pennsylvania. Please join me in raising awareness of the importance of clean drinking water and urging residents of Pennsylvania to conserve our drinking water supply and preserve its superior quality. |
