Subject: | Co-sponsorship-Legislation dealing with Philadelphia School District funding Crisis |
Today I introduced House Bill 1525 to deal with the Philadelphia school district funding crisis. Gaming revenues go to the property tax relief fund and are distributed for property tax relief statewide and wage tax relief for the City of the First Class. House Bill 1525 will redirect the portion of funds for the City of the First Class to the School District of Philadelphia for a 5 year term. This funding will help the district to deal with their funding crisis and right the ship. This proposal is revenue neutral to the Commonwealth. It will reduce the burden from the taxpayer and insure a quality education for our children. Finally, I will have a press conference to unveil this proposal on Monday, June 17th at 12:30 in the Media Center. Your participation and co-sponsorship of this proposal is welcome and encouraged. |
