Subject: | The National Nurses Act of 2013 - H.Res. 485 |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a concurrent resolution urging the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation to support House Resolution 485. H. Res. 485 was introduced on February 4, 2013 by Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and Congressman Peter King. This resolution will designate the Chief Nurse Officer of the United State Public Health Service as the National Nurse for Public Health. Currently, the United States is experiencing a surge of preventable conditions and chronic diseases. With the implementation of H. Res. 485, the National Nurse for Public Health would be able to raise awareness of these health issues and promote good health through education and outreach while encouraging participation of nurses, medical professionals, students and retirees, and contend with the serious nursing shortage. I hope you will join me in supporting H. Res. 485 to combat the current health epidemic. If you have any questions, please contact my office at 717-787-6886. |
