MEMORANDUM

Posted: October 29, 2013 12:30 PM
From: Representative Gerald J. Mullery
To: All House members
Subject: Condolence Resolution Honoring the Life and Service of James G. Hoffman, Sr.

In the very near future, I will be introducing a condolence resolution honoring the life and service of James G. Hoffman, Sr., who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the age of 46.

Mr. Hoffman graduated from West Hazleton High School in 1985. He later attended Luzerne County Community College where he attained his Paramedic Certificate in 1994. Mr. Hoffman spent nearly 30 years dedicating his life and service to the community, and he received numerous certificates in EMS and firefighting. Prior to his passing, Mr. Hoffman served as a paramedic with the Berwick Area Ambulance Company and Trans Med Ambulance Company before being promoted to the Fire Chief of Newport Township.

As an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Hoffman had a passion for hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family and helping others. Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife of 22 years, the former Roseanne Samulevich and their two children, James F. Hoffman, Jr. and David G. Hoffman.

James. G. Hoffman, Sr. served this Commonwealth and his community with courage and distinction, and so I ask you to please join me in recognizing and honoring his life and memory.

Introduced as HR545
