Subject: | Resolution Honoring the National Guard on 337 Years |
In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing the National Guard on the occasion of their 377th Birthday. Originally organized as a militia in Boston Massachusetts on December 13, 1636, the National Guard has expanded to all 50 states of the Union. These “Citizen Soldiers” (Soldiers and Airmen) continue to promote high standards of professionalism and diverse proficiency that has evolved over three centuries of working in communities across the United States. Today’s National Guard provides relief from natural disasters and other hazards. The Guard has also evolved into an active ready force deploying around the world to assist in the protection of United States interests abroad. I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution. If you have any questions, please email or call Germaine Brown (gbrown@pahouse.net or 717-783-4090) in my Harrisburg Office. Thank you for your consideration. |
