Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 13, 2014 03:35 PM
From: Representative Louise Williams Bishop
To: All House members
Subject: Co-Sponsorship: Costing out study

On Tuesday I plan to be introduce a resolution that would help Pennsylvania begin to repair the damage in state education cuts. My resolution would direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study of the financial impact of education cuts on Pennsylvania’s too school districts - as well as the impact of those cuts on school property taxes. The resolution would also require a detailed analysis of school funding adequacy and equity in Pennsylvania

I hope you will join me in cosponsoring this resolution. As you are aware the funding formula under the Costing Out Study in previous years laid out a pathway for fair more equitable and more adequate state funding of Pennsylvania’s public school until devastating cuts were made.
