Subject: Repeal of July 16, 1941 Establishing a Parkway in the Pocono Mountains
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation which repeals an antiquated law that established, constructed, and maintained the "Pocono Mountain Memorial Parkway".

The law created and charged the Pennsylvania Parkway Commission to handle responsibilities associated with the highway. However, the Pennsylvania Parkway Commission was dissolved in 1981 under a sunset provision. As a result, the Pennsylvania Parkway Commission responsibilities transferred to PennDOT.

My legislation would repeal this entire law. PennDOT has stated that it is in full support of repealing this law.
