MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 9, 2014 12:23 PM
From: Representative Nicholas A. Micozzie
To: All House members
Subject: Repeal of January 14, 1951 Act Authorizing the Department of Highways to Erect and Maintain Toll Bridges over the Susquehanna River at Certain Points

In the near future I will introduce legislation which repeals an archiaic law from January 14, 1951.

The current law allows the Department of Highways to erect and maintain toll bridges over the Susquehanna at certain points as well as provide the necessary approaches and connections with State highways. Additionally this act empowers counties to pay certain damages and provide for the collection of tolls.

My legislation would repeal this entire law. PennDOT has stated that it is in full support of repealing this legislation.

Thank you for your consideration.

Introduced as HB2372
