Subject: | Recognizing Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Volunteers |
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce a resolution recognizing Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful volunteers who are participating in the Great American Cleanup of PA, observed from March 1 through May 31, 2014. As you may know, the Great American Cleanup of PA is celebrating its ninth year of cleaning up litter and trash along our roadsides, streams, beaches, parks, forests and neighborhoods in an effort to make our communities clean and beautiful. In 2013, there were over 137,429 volunteers from all 67 Pennsylvania counties who participated in 4,928 cleanup events, where they collected more than 6,193,439 pounds of trash. These volunteers planted 5,933 trees, bulbs and plants in an effort to continue to keep Pennsylvania beautiful. In light of the outstanding work accomplished each year by these exceptional volunteers across the Commonwealth, I am both honored and privileged to sponsor this resolution recognizing their invaluable efforts. I ask that my colleagues please join me in advancing this resolution. Previous cosponsors of this resolution in 2013 were Reps. Barrar Bishop Brownlee, Caltagirone, Clay Clymer, Cohen Costa Cruz Daley, Davis, Deasy, DiGirolamo, Everett, Farry, Frankel, Gabler, Gillen, Gingrich, Goodman, Greiner, Hahn, Harhart, Hennessey, Hess, James, Kinsey Kirkland, Kortz, Kula, Longietti, Mahoney, Major, Marsico, Matzie, McCarter, Millard, Milne, Mirabito, Molchany, Murt, Rapp, Readshaw, Ross, Rozzi, Sabatina, Schlossberg, Snyder, Sonney, Stern, Swanger, Watson and Youngblood.
