Subject: | Health Care Compact |
I plan to introduce legislation in the near future that will authorize the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to join the Health Care Compact. Health care is an issue best addressed by the states, not the Federal Government. Obamacare’s one-size-fits-all plan creates more problems than it solves. The Pennsylvanians who we serve deserve better than that. The Health Care Compact will put up a firewall between member states and Obamacare. It will empower Pennsylvania to determine what health care legislation will best serve the people in the Commonwealth. The Compact will establish an Interstate Health Care Commission consisting of member state representatives to investigate health care solutions and make recommendations for state-level health care improvements. Nine states have approved the Health Care Compact. Ten more are working on Compact legislation right now. Efforts to garner Congressional approval of the Compact are already underway. It is time for Pennsylvania to join the Health Care Compact not only to reestablish the powers granted to states in the Constitution, but also to best serve the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please join me in supporting this legislation. |
