Subject: Carbon Monoxide Alarm Standards
 
This legislation mandates that every residential building be equipped with one or more carbon monoxide detectors that bear the label of a nationally recognized testing laboratory and meet ANSI certifications. Owners of residential buildings will be required to properly install the units, and owners/tenants must maintain the units in operable condition at all times. Noncompliance will be subject to a summary offense and a fine.
