Subject: | Resolution - Rosa Parks 100th Birthday |
In the near future, we plan on introducing a resolution commemorating Rosa Parks 100th birthday and recognizing her contributions to our country. On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks famously refused to give up her seat to a white man. Her brave act of civil disobedience led to a 382 day boycott of the bus system, and sparked the Civil Rights Movement. Rosa Parks spent her life fighting for equality and has been called the “mother of the freedom movement.” Please join me in sponsoring this worthy resolution. If you have any questions, please contact my office at 7-1427. |
