Subject: | Bid Limits in The Economic Development Financing Law |
As you know, the General Assembly recently passed, and the Governor signed, several bills which modernized the amount at which various local governments and authorities must competitively bid and advertise for projects or purchases. It has come to my attention that The Economic Development Financing Law, which was amended by Act 74 of 1993 to also establish bid amount thresholds for authorities operating under that act, was not similarly updated. I plan to introduce legislation which will make the bid amounts under this law consistent with the other legislation passed last session. Last session, the bill was Senate Bill 1383 and the co-sponsors were: EARLL, PILEGGI, ROBBINS, ORIE, FOLMER, GORDNER, D. WHITE, ALLOWAY, GREENLEAF, SCHWANK, M. WHITE, BRUBAKER AND SCARNATI |
