Subject: Resolution Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Ben Avon Heights
 
In the near future I will be introducing a resolution which will appropriately celebrate the Borough of Ben Avon Heights on its 100th anniversary. Located atop a hill above the Ohio River just nine miles from the City of Pittsburgh, the 84 acres of Ben Avon were purchased from a farmer in 1906 and incorporated as a Borough in 1913. Today the beautiful community is the location of 148 family homes, a community park, and the Shannopin Country Club.

To celebrate this anniversary in a manner befitting of a wonderful place to live, the Borough of Ben Avon Heights will be holding a celebration from June 21-23, 2013 that will include community events, a golf outing, family picnic, and architectural tours of the community. I would ask you to please join me in the celebration of the borough’s centennial by signing on as a co-sponsor of this resolution.
