Subject: Condolence Resolution for Robert W. Edgar
 
In the near future I will be introducing a resolution of condolence for Robert W. Edgar. Robert was a United States Congressman from the 7th District who served on, among other things, the House Select Committee on Assassinations in the wake of the deaths of President Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. After his time in Washington, he worked with the Ford Foundation to help veterans of the Vietnam War, served as Secretary General of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA, and was President and CEO of Common Cause.

Robert passed away April 23, 2013 and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Merle, and their sons, Andrew, David and Rob. Please join me in expressing the condolences of the Senate on his passing.
