Subject: | School yearbook photos |
I will shortly introduce legislation protecting students' right to reasonably choose a photographer for their yearbook photos. Some school districts contract with photographers to exclusively take graduating seniors' photos. In at least one case in my area, such a contract requires students to travel approximately 30 miles and across two county lines to have their photos taken. This is an inconvenience for many and a hardship for some, especially as there are a number of well-qualified photographers who are much closer. My proposal will provide that students may use any photographer that meets the school or district's reasonable form and content guidelines for yearbook photographs. |
